Last Week of School
Can you believe we are already coming up on the last week of school? This year has gone by so fast! This is a great week to celebrate all of our hard work! The kids cannot contain their excitement about the field trip to Taco Bell! We will also be having a Superschooler Picnic on Tuesday. Your child signed up to bring something so please check his/her FROG for that information.
Tuesday – Superschoolers Picnic
Students will dress as their favorite superhero and have a picnic lunch outside! Please see what your child offered to bring below. Also – if you would like to send a blanket or towel for your child to sit on, that would be okay.
Thursday – Taco Bell field trip
Please make sure your child wears comfortable walking shoes and has plenty of sunscreen on. Your child is also welcome to bring a squirt bottle for the long, hot walk. Just be aware, that your child is responsible for the squirt bottle.
Math- Your child has now completed all the math units for first grade. wow! There will no longer be math homework. Please continue working on addition and subtraction facts daily.
Reading : Students were given an Accelerated Reading level and goal. They are expected to test on two books within their level every Wednesday. I will provide the books for your child! Your child may keep these in class. If you would like your child to read the books at home, it MUST come back to class daily. Thank you!
TIME Magazines. Please have your child read one magazine per week (these can be used as part of their nightly reading) and answer the questions on the back page. Please turn in the completed magazines at the end of the month (unfortunately, the magazines do not come on the first day of the month. I will send them home when I receive them).
This is the last newsletter for the year! I have enjoyed teaching your children and watching them grow this year. I am truly blessed to have wonderful kiddos I get to spend every day with. Thank you for all of your hard work with your babies and thank you for the support you have given me through the year! Have a wonderful summer!
